ACCESSIBLE FALL TRENDS FOR ALL!.jpg

Accessible Fall Trends

I know for a fact that most of you are really into the idea of cultivating a personal style that's devoid of any trace of desperation. You don't want to look like you're trying too hard to look younger than you are, so you're a little hesitant when it comes to wearing new trends. However, you still want to look current and modern, so it seems like being somewhat trendy is the only answer.

So which trends can you choose this fall that won't feel uncomfortably trendy, but will easily meld into your current wardrobe without much effort? READ ON, friends....

(I've curated a companion list to the following, so if you want to snatch up one of these trends right now, check out my shop-able board)!

The Modern Trench

I know what you're thinking: what is new about a trench? It's a totally classic piece that keeps coming back. Well, that's exactly what makes this a great piece to add to your wardrobe this fall. The new trench coat is a little more playful. It might be cropped and swingy or it could have a print, stripe, or unexpected color. The modern trench can be a piece that you buy now, wear forever, and will always feel current enough to wear without hesitation.

TIP: Try wearing a lightweight trench over your shorter skirts and dresses to add a little hint of fall to your getup without giving yourself something to sweat about.

Plaid Everything

Plaid is a trend which also seems to come back again and again, which makes it super easy to wear. This fall, skip the obvious plaid button-up shirts and go for something less expected, like a ladylike top in windowpane, a structured blazer, or a plaid sheath dress. I love the menswear-appeal of plaid for your work-wear. There's something simultaneously strong and playful about it. Plus, what screams fall louder than plaid?

TIP: Plaid mixes really well with other prints too, so if you're feeling a little more creative/trendy, try wearing a striped shirt under that plaid blazer or with those plaid pants!

Going Grey

Yes, another classic maing a comeback this fall. There's not much to say about grey, other than it's going to be hard to avoid when you're out and about this fall. I love the idea of making grey super modern and chic by selecting several different shades of grey and wearing them all at once. A soft monochrome is great for days when you don't have time to think too hard, but still want to look put together and current.

TIP: If grey tends to wash you out, wear the offending shade away from your face. There's always one shade that won't wash you out, I swear!
