Sweatproof Style

First of all, thanks to everyone for their support as I launched my Style Shift Workshop! It was really scary putting myself out there like that, but it turned out to be totally worth it! We're halfway through the 4-week program and it's been really exciting to watch the group of 12 discover the style that makes them feel alive. Woo hoo! Anyway, thanks for hanging with me.

Last summer, I shared my favorite ways to disguse your sweaty self with your clothes, and I'm reviving the subject in honor of the fact that it's been 100 degress for the past week straight here in Austin. Nothing to celebrate, really, but we might as well enjoy some sweatproof style since we can't change the weather!

I've also collected some sweet new finds HERE so if you're looking for some inspiration, you can click away to find something new on my shoppable sweatproof style board. Oh, and there are some pieces in there for the guys too!

Stripe Down

See what I did there? Anyway, nothing screams summertime louder than a good ole trusty stripe. And the other wonderful thing a stripe will do is camoflage your sticky underarms, especially the white-based stripe prints. You can get away with wearing trickier fabrics like silks and cottons when you have this print to distract from any wetness, and you can find striped pieces all over the place in dressy and casual iterations. Easy!

Texture & Print

Another stellar way to avoid people seeing you sweat is to create a little playful canvas with your outfit. I find that when you've got an embellished, printed, or highly textured item, you're less likely to notice the color variations a little dampness can create. Don't have a printed top? You can also create a diversion with your jewelry & hair. Put on a statement necklace or pull your long hair forward and voila! Instant disguise ;)

Fringey Fringe

If you're not willing to let go of your solids, I wholeheartedly understand. Try looking for tops/dresses with a little fringe, ruffle, or extra embellishment on the arm opening. This will serve as a little barrier between your sweat and the world, plus this kind of element will give your basics an extra pop!
